Kinh Kính Mừng đã mất hơn 15 thế kỷ mới có hình thức hiện tại. Sang nước Việt Nam, cũng cần ba thế kỷ, tới giữa thế kỷ thứ hai mươi XX, sau công đồng Đông Dương thì mới đạt được bản dịch như ngày nay (HDGM Việt Nam):
Kính mừng Maria đầy ơn phúc,
Đức Chúa Trời ở cùng Bà,
Bà có phúc lạ hơn mọi người nữ,
và Giêsu con lòng Bà gồm phúc lạ.
Thánh Maria Đức Mẹ Chúa Trời,
cầu cho chúng con là kẻ có tội
khi nay và trong giờ lâm tử. Amen.
